Watt, dated ]\Iarch 14, 1901, he remarks : The roots that find their way to Europe under the nameof l>ikh and Bish are, no doubt, those of our var. sjiicatifiji andxav.I(t(i)ii((tinii, separately, or mixed together. The former of them is often stated to be broader than the latter, but otherwise they are exceedingly difificult to dis- tinguish, except in microscopic section, when it will be found that var. laciniatmu does not possess the inner ring of bundles that encloses the central core in var. .■spicatiDn. This opinion is confirmed by my own ex'perience, as the Nepaul aconite of commerce agrees with these roots in structure, whilst I have never met with any having the remarkable structure of var. atn}.r (A. deinorrliizim, Stapf), in the commercial article.
