Spleen.—Measured. 7°3 x 45 x 2 cm. One tubercle was visible beneath the capsule. The substance was firm, and scattered throughout were fairly numerous, distinctly palpable, greyish nodules, the majority about the size of millet seeds, with irregular, yellowish, caseous centres. Kidneys.—Several firm, yellowish, caseous tubercles, the size of millet ae were visible beneath the capsules; in section the pyramids were normal. Intestines.—Two caseous nodules in wall of small intestine. Summary. Direct cultures from cervical, bronchial, and mesenteric glands were all eugonic. Tested on rabbits, the bronchial and mesenteric gland cultures were of low virulence. Evidence as to portal of entry inconclusive. H 6. V. K., 7 years; female.—Tuberculous pneumonia; general tuberculosis; meningitis. History of measles and whooping cough. Cervical Glands.—Many enlarged, the largest measuring 1°5 x 15 x ‘6 em., and containing large, irregular, caseous areas in which a few tubercle bacilli were seen. General tuberculosis was produced in a guinea-pig. ‘ Bronchial Glands. —KHExtensively enlarged and caseous. At the root of the right lung was a mass of tuberculous glands measuring 3 x 2x 18cm. A few tubercle bacilli were seen in each of three. General tuberculosis was produced in two guinea-pigs. Lungs.—Closely filled with caseous, miliary tubercles. In the left apex was a triangular area, 5 cm. on each side, which con- tained large ragged cavities filled with caseo-purulent material. The right apex was similarly but less extensively affected; the remaining parenchyma contained numerous small cavities filled with caseo-pus, in which tubercle bacilli were numerous. Mesenteric Glands..Many were moderately enlarged, and a considerable proportion of these contained one or more firm, yellow, caseous, discrete patches, in which tubercle bacilli were scanty. General tuberculosis was produced in a guinea-pig. Spleen.—A moderate number of minute, translucent tubercles ; also caseous tubercles up to a millet seed. / Kidneys.—On section each contained in the cortex and in the pyramids scattered caseous nodules up to 3 mm. in diameter. Intestines.—In the small intestine were seven caseous nodules up to a small pea in size. Tubercles and deposit of lymph reported on meninges. Summary. Cultures obtained directly from the cervical, bronchial and mesenteric glands were eugonic and of low virulence for rabbits. Evidence as to portal of entry inconclusive. Ee, A. P., 24 years; male.—Diarrhea; convulsions. Cervical Glands.—Enlarged, and many caseous throughout, the largest measuring 1 x 1:2 x ‘8cm.
