![Pathological Examinations. All Wassermanii tests were carried out at the Public Health Laboratory, Mauchester. Of these 441 were done , for patients attending the Clinics and 334 for patients uuder private treatment by Practitioners In Cumberland and Carlisle (including 256 tests for the staft' of the Cum- berland Infirmary). Of Bacteriological tests 121 were done by the Medical Officer at the Clinics and 84 at ]\lanchester. Approved Arsenobenzene Compounds. These were supplied free to any practitioners on the approved list who applied. The number of doses issued in this wav was 38. At the Clinics 1,3U8 doses were given, mostly bv the 'intravenous method. Of these 660' were for patients residing in Carlisle, T26 for Cumberland, and 22 for other Areas. While practitioners on the ajiproved list may apply for any of the Arsenobenzene Compounds approved bv the Ministry of Health it is found that at the Clinics it is best to use as few kinds as possible as stocks are apt to deterio- rate. In addition to Novarsenobillon and i^eokharsivan which have been in use for some years iSulpharsenol and Silver Salvarsan are now in regular use at the Clinics. Treatment Centres. 1. Carlisle. The same premises were in use at tbe Cumberland Infirmary and the hours at which the Clinics were held were unchanged. Pepairs, chiefly redecorating, are urgently required, but in view of the unceHainty as to bow Tnuch longer these rooms Avill remain in use nothing has been done. The Secretary of the Infirmary is still unable to give any information on tins point The sanitary state of the rooms is most •insatisfactory. During tlie year 357 patients were dealt with, an increase of 20 compared with the previous year. 217 attended for the first time, 17 were re-admitted, making 234, an increase of 10. The total attendances were 4,630, an increase of 775.
