![I'herc were 59 notiiicalions of scarlet fever in respect of school children, compared with 65 in 1948, 49 in 1947 and 92 in 1946. There were nO' fatal cases during: the last four years. Measles cases numbered 303 hut 277 (jf these were received during- the March quarter and represented the end of the previous year’s epidemic. Whooping- cough was much less ]jrevalent, as also was chickenpox; the numher of cases of mumps was the lowest lor many years. The following table gives comparative details of infectious diseases (other than Tuberculosis) during the last three years. In the case of the non-notihable diseases, the hgures are obtained from the Schools.
