![Leamington Spa, June, To the Solihull Urban District Council. ^Ir. Chairman, Mrs. Timms and Gentlemen, 1 beg to ])rescnt the report for the year 19:hS, relating to the sanitary condition of the District and the health of its inhal)itants. Ihe development of the District continues, an increase in population of 2,900 as estimated by the Registrar-General, is an indication of this growth. Our own estimate of tlic ])o])ulation is higher than this, and is based on the number of houses erected since the Census of 1931. Such growth as this, even by the Registrar-Gencrars figures, 23,000 since the Census of 1931, or over 90 per cent., must necessarily produce difficulties in administration. On the recommendation of the Health Committee, the (.ouncil sanctioned the appointment of a Dc])uty Senior v^anitary Inspector, and Mr. Forman commenced his duties early in 1939. To the ^Members of the Council 1 wish to ex])ress my thanks for their kindness and consideration, also to my colleagues for their ready hclj). iMuch of the work in connection with this re^port has Ldlen to Mr. ( hard, the Sanitary Inspector. To him and his staff I wish to tender my thanks for ready help at all times. I am, i\lr. Chairman, iMrs. 1 imms and Gentlemen, ’^'oiir obedient Servant, H. GIBBONS WARD, Medical Officer of Health.](https://iiif.wellcomecollection.org/image/b30092097_0003.jp2/full/800%2C/0/default.jpg)
