Return sliOAving tlie Distribution of the Troops and of the Sick on W.O. Form 464. 704. W.O. Book 39 will be used as a note-book, vide paragraph 707. 705. At every station Avhere there are meteorological instruments the Senior ]\Iedical Officer (who is responsible for the care and accuracy with which all observations are taken and recorded), will ftu-nish monthly to the Director General a Retm-n of the Meteorological Observations taken, on W.O. Form 848 ; and yearly a List of Meteorological Insti'uments on a hthograj)hed form, which will be siipphed by the Dhector GeueraL 706. The Principal Medical Officer will refer in his Annual Retiu-n of Sick (W.O. Form 298) to the manuscript reports of the Medical Officers who may be specially appointed to take charge of the sanitary arrangements at Stations, and also to those fm-nished by the Medical Officers in charge of the Station Hospitals. He will be careful to specify -whether he concm-s in the statements made in such reports, and Avill comply mth the instructions laid down in Part G, Section IV, of these Regu- lations. A copy of the remarks on Sanitary Conditions on page 11 of W.O. Form 298, will be furnished to the General Officer Commanding. 707. The Medical Officer specially appointed to _ take charge of the sanitary an-angements at a Station, will fm-nish to the Ivledical Officer in charge of the Station Hospital a manu- sci-ipt annual report thereon stating such leading sanitary im- provements as may have been effected in the com-se of the year in respect of cubic accommodation in barracks, in the ventilation of barrack-rooms, huts, &c., the increased facilities for ablution ; extended means for variety of cooking; alterations m the soldiers' diet; and such improvement as may from tmie to tune take place in the clothing of the troops wath reference to the chmate of the station and season of the year. Any more effec- tive drainage of camps and ban-acks that may have been carried out and also the condition of the di-aiuage in theu; neighbom-- hood, should be stated, and wherever gymnasia exist the eflect of the trainhig on the health of the troops should also be stated. 708. The Medical Officer in charge of the Station Hospital Avill also furnish m the manusciipt report, special remarks on the size, site, &c., of the hospital, the number, the accommodation and the general sanitary condition of the hospital buildings, and other details contamed'in the above paragraph which may refer to li^^P^^'^-J^-^j^^ preparation of the foregoing reports the above- mentioned Medical Officers will be guided generally by the oiit- Hne of subjects laid do^^^a in the Appendix No. 15, at pages 212 ^^710.
