Director General. II. -DUTIES OF MEDICAL OFFICERS DOINa DUTY WITH TROOPS. 40. A Medical Officer, doing duty with troops, both m camp S^^itary and quarters, will report any insanitary condition that ma;y exist m the vicmity of his charge to the Samtary Officer or m his absence to the Medical Officer in charge of the Station Hospital; and will be guided in the performance of this and his other duties by existing regulations and by such mstructions as he may receive from the Principal Medical Officer of the ^''*4L He will, in addition to the above, be available for duty ^^^^y^at^^^. in the Station Hospital, or for any professional or departmental pi^al. duty for which he may be detailed by the Principal Medical ^^42: He will, in accordance with sec. 14, par. 17, of the Queen's Attendance at Kegulations and orders for the Army, 1873, attend parades ot the troops when inspected by a General Officer, and any other parades when professional assistance is wanted ; under ordinary circumstances the attendance of a Medical Officer at rifle ranges and at target practice, ^all not be required; but the name and address of a Medical Officer, who could be sent for if necessary, will be communicated to each officer m charge ot parties at practice. The Medical Officer warned for this service will re- main either in the hospital or in quarters. ,^ ^. , . 43. At certaiQ stations, where considered necessary by the Medical m-^^ Principal Medical Officer, a medical inspection room, with tlie v necessary fm-niture, will be provided in the Barracks, m which men reported sick will be seen, and where the instruments and necessary medicines will be kept. At Stations where there is only one regiment, or where the Hospital is T\dthiii the Barrack enclo- sui-e an raspection room will not be provided in the BaiTacks. 44. In accordance with sec. 14, para. 15. Queen's Regulations Exnmination and orders for the Army, 1873, the Medical Officer will exanune of sick. all Non-commissioned Officers and soldiers reported sick where ^ there is an inspection room in Barracks, and those whom he may consider unfit for duty will be sent to Hospital. The regimental number, name, and all particulars of each man vail be entered on a sick report (furnished in dupHcate), as laid down m General Order 14 of 1874, and General Order 20 oi 1876 ; both copies ot which will be sent with the men to the Medical Officer m
