    as a rule they act upon the principle enunciated in the passage which Shakspeare puts into the mouth of one of his chief characters : 'Tis not my profit that does lead mine honour, Mine honour, it. Life insurance involves interests of the greatest importance to the individual and to society; and here, as in many other matters affecting the welfare of humanity, the medical man is one of the chief guardians of social morality and civilisation. The more fully he realises the elevated aims that he should aspire to, the more he aids his fellow-man in his onward progress, and the more he fulfils the great obligations which he takes upon himself in joining the noblest and the most unselfish of all professions.
