![MEDICATED VAPOUR BATHS. 1. Baln'eum Htdkargyri. The tnercurial furm* btith is given as follows:— The patient takes the simple vap*.»ur l»ath till the skin is thoroughly heated. A scniple of calomel is placed on a hot metal plate, and introduced into the body of the bath thn>ugh a sliding door, which is then cK>sed. The mercury is thus sublimed and rises along with the steaui, by means of which it is so far diluted that towards the clow; of the process it can bo inspired from two or three to four or five times, beyond which it has not been found nwa'ssary to push the inhalation. It is never rcipiisite to stay more than a quarter of an hour in this bath; iisually, indeed, not beyond ten minutes, at the end of which time the patient should dry the skin gently and dress, resting a little on a couch if tired. 2. B.tLXEL'M SULPHITRIS. Tlie sulphur fume bath is taken by means of a metal plate, on which is placed a teaspoonful of sublimed sulphtir ; the ]»latt* being introduced into the interior of a box, the same as used for the vapour bath, is brought over a strong gas jet and the door is closed.
