The Serological Department of the University Institute of Forensic Medicine, Copenhagen, with each certificate of their findings, issue a pamphlet, ‘Guidance in judging of blood-typing results’ (Andresen, 1 1947). Concerning the A X A 2 difference the pamphlet says, ‘In the presence of quite typical reactions for A x and A 2 the possibility of a paternity incompatible with the A 1 -A 2 system has to be considered very remote .’ This is qualified by saying that if a paternity is excluded by one of the parties being A 2 B, and that if the paternity would not have been excluded had the person in question been A X B, then the results should not be considered decisive. The children possible from the different A x A 2 BO matings are shown in Table 101. The MN groups There are difficulties in producing good anti-M and anti-N sera (see page 78), and experience is needed to get the right results con sistently. These tests are, in our opinion, more difficult to do correctly than are Rh genotype tests.](https://iiif.wellcomecollection.org/image/b18026631_0344.JP2/full/800%2C/0/default.jpg)
