A scarce edition of this famous trial. Collation: Title and 145 pp. On the title is the signature John Popham, May 12th, 1808. This is probably a relative of Sir Home Popham, who took Buenos Aires in the first place. WHITELOCKE. The Trial at Large of Lieut. Gen. Whitelocke, late Commander in Chief of the Forces in South America. Taken by Blanchard and Ramsay. With folding map and plans of Buenos Aires and Montevideo. Thick 8vo, half calf. London, Faulder, 1808. £6 6s. Contains at the end Whitelocke’s sentence, 4 pp., and two appendices contain- ing his commission and various documents. He was court-martialled for sur- rendering Buenos Aires and Monte Video and was cashiered.
