Correspondence with cardiologist Meyer (‘Mike’) Friedman, Director of the Meyer Friedman Institute, San Francisco, USA, relating chiefly to the writing of Friedman and Gerald Friedland’s book, Medicine’s ten greatest discoveries (Yale University Press, 1998), including an account of the discovery of the structure of DNA. Also reference to a recent meeting between Friedman and Francis Crick, 1994, including Crick’s comments on James Watson, and a list of DNA-related items donated by Friedman to Yale School of Medicine.
