    beacon which illuminates a tiny segment of the intricate maze that is a living cell. Is this vision real or is it an artifact elevated to reality by an overambitious phantasy? A conscientious scientist invites challenge of his work at the numerous meetings that are organized just for such purpose. Only from the survival of the challenge of our fellow craftsmen do we gain assurance. Only work and conclusions which are constantly exposed to the open, international courts of scientific inquiry gain credence.
