![MEAT INSPECTION Slaughterhouses There are no private slaughterhouses in the Borough, but there are two public slaughterhouses under the control of the Markets and Baths Committee; one is leased to the local Co-operative Society and the other to a private firm. Facilities are available at both these slaughterhouses for1 butchers to have their own animals slaughtered. During the year the Co-operative Society purchased lamb and beef “off the hook” and the Foundry Street Slaughterhouse was used by the Society for the slaughter of pigs.
