Greeh text of the poem and the scholia, written on the reverse of eacli leaf: together with the prose Latin trans- lation of Part I., on the opposite page, and the first paragraph of the Latin commentary (at f. 20), as it was translated by Pierre Moreau. In three parts, containing respectively 403, 492, and 774 lines. a. Part I. begins : “ 'ApyaXeov TroXifaoio faeyav irovov ’lAia/coto,” etc. f. 1 b. The prose translation begins : “ Asperi belli magnum laborem Iliaci,” f. 2; and ends: “ Bum uero Vlisses occidit dolis inhumauit autem Ajax.” f. 19. The scholia upon Part l. begin: “ Trapcov ^ovTjrrji; (f)iXoavvTo/j,o<; a>v.” f. 19 b. Moreau’s commentary begins: “ Cum breuitatis in primis studiosus sit hie poeta ”; and ends (with the first paragraph): “ eodem quo Homerus olim sensu interpretatus.” f. 20. b. Part II. begins: “ Avrap evrei to y axova-ev ’A^iAeu? 6/3pi~ p,66vpio<;.” f. 47 b. The scholia begin: “ a. Tovtov evexa yeyovev r) p,rivi,<i rov f. 71 b. c. Part III. begins: “ AvTap iirel iroiTja'av v(f> exropt ocraa iooxev ”; and ends: OtxaBi t iX6ep,evai, Xvypov rov voarov IBovra^” f. 104 b. The scholia begin: “ a. ’Ho? ivl rptrarr). Tplrp rjpbepa ano TTj<; €XTopo<i TeXevri]<; ”; and end: “ r)pax\X^eiov p,rjv6<; ovto<; iv BeX(f>oi<;, a6ifjvr](TL Se 6apy7)Xic!)vo<; oyBor). ov (j)0ivovTO<; r] rpola edXo).” f. 140 b. The present text appears to have been copied from that of Royal 16. C. iv. A., though the number of lines does not exactly agree, even after making allowance for the mistake made there in numbering the lines of Part i. Vol. II. Translation of the Iliaca, in 1825 Latin hexameters, by Pierre Moreau; together with two arguments by the translator of 15 lines each, one of which is prefixed to the first, and the other to the third, part. The argument of Part ii. is not in this copy. The title is as follows: “ Ion. Grammat. Tzetzae de bello troiano libri tres; quorum primum Ante-Homerica, Secundum Homerica, Tertium denique Post-Homerica inscripsit.” a. Part l. Antehomerica, in 412 lines, with argument, f. 1 b. The poem begins: “ Iliacos cineies, supremaeque [sic] funera Troise.”
