![6 VESTRY RATES. The total amount of assessment on the property in the parish, according to the rateable value, at March, 18G4, was £289,201. The following rates have been made by the Vestry for the year ending 25th March, 1864: Sewers Rate at 3d. in the pound, for the year. MAIN DRAINAGE RATE. A Rate of 3d. in the pound was made by the Vestry to pay the amount of the Precept issued by the Metropolitan Board of Works, for £3322 3s. 0d. the proportion to be paid by this parish towards the yearly expenses of the Board, in regard to the Main Drainage of the Metropolis to the 1st August, 1864. The Rate was collected on the Michaelmas and Christmas 1863, and Lady-day 1864, quarters, being a penny for each quarter; the account stands thus:— Balance on hand 24th June, 1863 379 2 6 Collected and paid treasurer on the Michaelmas 1863 rate 377 9 6 Christmas 1863 rate 1035 11 8 Lady-day 1864 rate 1173 3 6—2586 4 8 £2965 7 2 From which after deducting collectors' poundage, &c. 99 14 7 leaves a balance in the hands of the Treasurer on the 25th March, 1864, of £2865 12 7 The Vestry paid the sum of £2462 12s. 11d. to the Metropolitan Board of Works on the 20th day of June, 1863, being the proportion to bo paid by this parish towards the general expenses of the Board, for the year 1863, upon a Precept dated the 2nd day of January, 1863.
