The following table shows the sanitary improvements effected during the year. In connection with the drainage of premises by means of cesspools, supervision has been pushed, forward and repairs and improvements liave been carried out. It is hoped that circumstances within the area will enable the number of cesspools to be considerably reduced, as this method of drainage in an urban area does not coincide with the modern requirements of the populace, and can be an extreme source of trouble.
