    AIX LES BAINS Source des “ Deux Reines.” These waters spring from the flanks of Mt. Revard at an altitude of some 2,000 feet and are named after the two Queens of Holland,who were among the first to appreciate their properties. The “ Deux Reims ” water is remarkable for its lightness and its freedom from lime salts, qualities which render it par- ticularly suitable for use as a table water and as a depurative agent for arthritic, rheumatic and gouty subjects. It contains an exceptional amount of free oxygen in solution (8 volumes per 1,000). This freedom from mineral constituents confers upon the Deux Reims ” water peculiar diuretic properties which are turned to account in the so-called “ internal lavage ” treatment, indicated in conjunction with the spa treatment at Aix. It is bright, agreeable to the palate and is readily absorbed and eliminated. Owing to its depurative properties it tends to reduce the blood pressure when this is above normal (arterio-sclerosis).
