The heat of Jamaica varies in dif- ferent parts of the ifland, and at dif¬ ferent fealons of the year. It is great- eft in the low, fandy grounds on the fouth ftde of the ifland, and is leaft in the mountains. The heat at Kingfton is fomewhat greater than at Spanifli Town; and, about ten miles weft of this place, in almallvale, environed by hills, it was found, at an average, to be flx or fe- ven degrees cooler than in town.
