Description
Henry Sacheverell was a celbrated Anglican preacher of his day who was impeached before the House of Lords in 1710 for sermons he had delivered and published attacking nonconformists and Whigs. He had widespread support in the Church of England and among Tories. He was given a light sentence of abstention from preaching for three years.
