![The mean age at death of the deaths registered in the district is 34 years, compared with 37 in 1903, and the nett mean age at death is 35 years, compared with 40 years in 1903. The mean age at death is lower this year than last, owing to the fact that there were 35 more deaths in children under the age of 5 years than last year. The increased infantile mortality is due to the very severe epidemic of measles we experienced in the first half of the year, and which accounted for 34 deaths in children under 5 years of age.
