Printed on sycamore wood felled by the Rt. Hon. W.E. Gladstone, M.P. Facsimile of letter with text as follows: "March 17, 1893. 10, Downing Street, Whitehall. Gentlemen, I beg to return my grateful thanks to the workmen in your employ who have had the goodness to present me with a case of compound drugs; and to express my sense of the kindness of the letter which accompanied their elegant and useful gift. I am, gentlemen, your faithful servant, W.E. Gladstone. [To] Messrs Burroughs, Wellcome & Co." Printed in red below facsimile; "The above is a fac-simile of the acknowledgment by Mr Gladstone of a medicine chest fitted with "Tabloids" of compressed drugs which was presented to him by about 250 of the employees of Burroughs, Wellcome & Co., London"
