With the extreame crueltie of Shylocke the Iewe towards the sayd Merchant, in cutting a iust pound of his flesh: and the obtayning of Portia by the choyse of three chests, FIRST EDITION, TALL AND BROAD copy (a small portion of the upper margin and two small slits repaired, a small shit damaging one letter on the title-page, the margins of several leaves repaired ina few cases slightly affecting the text, leaf K 1 inlaid, a few letters damaged by rust and other stains and missed in the printing, a small hole damaging two words, a few letters defective), half calf 4to. Printed by I. Rloberts| for Thomas Heyes, and are to be sold in Paules Church-yard, at the signe of the Green Dragon, 1600 This copy does not appear to be in Bartlett & Pollards ‘‘ Census of Shakespeare’s Plays in Quarto.” It measures 74 in. by 54in.; of the copies measured by Bartlett & Pollard, only the Dyce copy is taller, and the Devonshire-Huntington copy broader.
