Left to right (with date of operation in 1968): Mrs Beth Brunk (29 July), H.W. Jurgens (23 July), F.C. Everman (20 July), G.H. DeBord (2 July), Louis John Fierro (21 May; died October 1968), E.C. Thomas (3 May). Brunk and Fierro were operated on at St Luke's Episcopal Hospital, Houston; possibly all of these likewise at Houston. Brunk's was the first woman-to-woman transplant
