![Dr. E. D. Thomson. Will you, therefore, again please to direct his attention to this point ? and at the same time notify that he is quite at liberty to take the samples himself in the presence of a competent witness appointed by the Local Board of Health. We are, dear Sir, yours faithfully, W. A. GEEENHILL,') „ , . JOHN PENHALL, J Secretanes- R. Growse, Esq. No. 27. Letter from the Town Clerk to Dr. Garrett. Hastings Local Board of Health, Town Clerk’s Office, 19th, Feb., 1859. Dear Sir, I beg to direct your attention to the fact that in your reply to my letter of Feb. 17th, you have overlooked my principal object in writing, which was to obtain from you information as to the sources from which you procured the water submitted by you to Dr. E. D. Thomson. Should you prefer it, we shall be glad if you will take the samples yourself, in the presence of a competent wit¬ ness, which shall be forwarded to our analyst for ex¬ amination. If in your reply you will name time and place, I will direct our representative to meet you with perfectly new bottles, to be sealed in your presence when filled.* Yours truly, EOBEET GEOWSE, Town Clerk. Dr. Garrett. * [No answer was received to this letter,]](https://iiif.wellcomecollection.org/image/b30479903_0050.jp2/full/800%2C/0/default.jpg)
