Ato ** A HIGHLY IMPORTANT AND VALUABLE COLLECTION OF GREEK INSCRIP- TIONS copied from the original marbles by C. R. Cockerell, the traveller and archaeologist well known as the finder of the Aegina Marbles now in the Glyptothek at Munich. According to a note in the first volume Cockerell’s MSS. were “copied out in this form by Signor Amati at Rome in 1815, and examined by Mr. Akerblad, who made all the notes and corrections in red ink. Mr. Walpole has made copies of those marked cd. and has noted those already in print.” [Robert Walpole, classical scholar and traveller, editor of Comicorum Graecorum Fragmenta]. Cockerell was an extremely accurate copyist and the volumes now offered should provide much original material for the study of inscriptions. 479 AwnpERSEN (H.C.) Full A. Schedule, signed “Buonaparte Pr.” 1 full p. folio, in Italiau, Inventory of papers produced in the action between C. G. Tusoli and Saveria Tusoli, wife of C. Mancini, by Charles Buonaparte, nominated assessor in the jurisdiction of Ajaccio, by the favour of Monsr. de Marheuf; the Greffier has added “ Signiffié autant » Maitre Pozzo di Borgo”; this piece unites the names of the two rival families of the Buonapartes and Pozzos, who disputed their pre- eminence in Corsica until the advent of Napoleon 481 Buonaparre (Laetitia) Mother of Napoleon, L. s. “ Affma Madre,” with two lines autograph, in Italian, 14 pp. large 4to, Pastis le 20 Tbre, 1807, to her son lucien, the text of the letter, in French, is in the hand of Cardinal Fesch, and concerns the recent death of Lucien’s second son She condoles with him, and has sent his letter to the Emperor. As she has not seen him she cannot tell him how he has received the news. She hopes that this event has not affected his health and mentions Louis and Paulette.
