![an affiliation at the old Lying-In Hospital and had elected ad¬ ditional practice in obstetrics. They finished their course of training in the department and upon graduation they were given positions in the clinic. The other six students were sent to the Out-Patient Department for four weeks of practice and instruc¬ tion. On October first seventeen graduate students entered the school for a four months’ course in obstetrical and gynecological nursing. The majority of these were students who had applied for graduate study at the Lying-In Hospital. On October fifth twenty-six affiliating students from the following schools entered for a three months’ course in obstetrics: Bloomingdale Hospital School of Nursing 1 Lenox Hill Hospital School of Nursing.... 10 Moses Taylor Hospital School of Nursing. 3 Ogden Mills Hospital School of Nursing. . 4 St. Mary’s Hospital School of Nursing.... 4 St. Vincent’s Hospital School of Nursing. 4 Formal classes were begun the first of October. They consist of lectures, clinics, demonstrations and conferences by doctors and nurses. Practice is given in antepartum and postpartum care, in care during labor and delivery, care of the new-born, and in assisting in the operating room and the Out-Patient Department. The latter includes one week with the Maternity Center Association. The staff as of December 31, 1932 was as follows: Head of Department. Supervisors. Assistant Supervisor.. Head Nurses.
