The eight year old girls show a very slight decrease. The figures in brackets show the corresponding heights and weights for 1946. It will be noticed that no figures for 1946 are given for the thirteen year old group. This is accounted for by the fact that children in the leaver group are examined at the age of thirteen instead of twelve, and this is the first year that heights and weights for thirteen year old children have been recorded.](https://iiif.wellcomecollection.org/image/b29440117_0008.jp2/full/800%2C/0/default.jpg)
