The Asylum was visited on the 6th of November by two of the Commissioners in Lunacy. In the copy of their report, appended, it will be seen they exj^ress their satisfaction at the condition in which they found the building and its inmates; the suggestions made by them for further improvements have received the atten¬ tion of the Committee, and some of them have been already carried out. The conduct of the attendants and servants has, on the whole, been exceedingly satisfactory, and but few changes have taken place. In conclusion, the Medical Superintendent ventures to express a hope that he may continue to enjoy the confidence of the Com¬ mittee of Visitors, the possession of which has encouraged him greatly during the past year, and enabled him to contend success¬ fully with the anxieties and difficulties inseparable from the opening of a new institution.
