    falles & beyng all redye a old pety dreyne abowt 1i1j footes wide it may be dyked & made widder by viij footes, to be in all xij footes wide, payng therfore to the seid owners of the seid growndes after [blank] the acre for the parchas of the seid growndes. & to pay nothyng for rowme of the bankes, as before said. & then a bridge through Havernewlandgate. Verte [473.X1.8d] 189 Item to go further all upon the northe side of the arr’ land of Roger Grene next the arr’ land of John Westland on the northe, conteynyng in lengthe unto the Quales [blank] falles, & to be diked & made xij footes wide payng therfore to the owner of the said grownde after [blank] the acre for the parchas of the said grownde. & to pay nothyng for the rowme of the bankes to be casted upon theire seid growndes. Item then to enter & dike through the old graft at the Quales unto the new gote there. Item 1ij gaddes there at the Eyng Dike gap ar fawtie in like maner . to be amended as the other before is said. [473.X1.9] 190 (Gosberton and Surflet] Item the seyd jurey say that ther ys a drene called Rusgate Ey belongyng to Gosberton & Surflet wyche ys defectyve for lack of dyking from a place nye Fen End Bryg unto the lymyttes of Surfte under the sedyck in the same drene & the one part of the seyd drene ys to be dyked by the lordes & fre holders of Surflet as yt hathe ben used to be done, & thother part therof to be dyked clensed & scoured by the lordes & freholders of Gosberton as ytt hathe ben lyke wyse used to be don & the bangkes of the same drene bothe within Surflet shyft & Gosberton shyft ar defectyve in dyvers places for lack of hyght & breade & ought to be amended by the lordes & freholders of the seyd townes as joyse bokes of the same do apoynt the same to be don. Item the seyd jurey say that ther ys a drene called Lee Beache tendyng from the fens att Wryghtbold unto the see goote att Surflet of the wyche part was dyked thys last yere past & some of the same drene betwene Gosberton & Pynchebek ys not yet dykyd & owght to be dyked by the lordes & owners of landes or groundes next adionyng to the same drene. Item the seyd jurey say that wher as ther ys a pare of clous erected in the seyd drene att Wryghtbold aforeseyd by the lordes Burne & other tounes ther about wherby the fen waters owght to have passage to the sea att serten tymes of the yere as ys apoynted by laus for the same wyche clous hathe not thys yere ben used accordyng to the laws & ordinances therof heretofore made, wherby the tounes
