    To their Mistress. Though sweet it is to see thee smiling, And thus our chains our woes beguiling. And thus old grey hair’d time deceiving, Sweet pleasure ’midst our woes receiving, In slavery to live. Still native home such charms possesses, Still all at home our fancy dresses tn hues so bright, in colours var’ing. We wish, all fortune’s tempests daring. In liberty to live. For who e’en would in slay’ry feasting The golden hours of youth be wasting. If on the rock on heather sleeping. If in the rill his crust but steeping. He might in freedom live.
