    It is about the biological symposium that I want to write here. Ás you will see in the enclosed preliminary program, the sessions will be held on the Tuesday and Wednesday morning, Thursday and Friday during the whole day and on Saturday morning. It would be a symposium of the open kind, including about 18 original papers, and discussions implying the participation of particularly com petent guests. Free hearers will also be admitted but without leave to speak» The papers and the main points in the discussions will be published in a special section of the Archives de Biologie» When we prepared this program, we presumed, dear Profes sor that you would be interested in being one of the speakers of the session î Réduplications et transferts# There would be a time limit of 30 minutes for your speech, the same time being reserved for the discussion ; but your text for publication could be about 750 type written lines long, with illustration in reasonable proportion« If you can, as we warmly wish it, accept to come and participate in this Commemoration, further instructions will be sent later. We will ask you especially to send, before the 15th of July 1964, a summary of your paper (about 50 lines). If you could not come to Brussels at the mentioned date and you knew a colleague who might replace you, we would be grateful if you gave us his name and address. The Organizing Committee has charged me to send an ear nest request for your participation in this Commemoration. If you con sent, we should be very grateful. The cost of the direct journey, ei ther by air or by rail (first class, with sleeping car for two, if ne cessary) will be refunded, and you would be our guest in Brussels, frema Sunday 1$ October to Sunday 25th. If your wife or a relative accompa nies you, this person would also be our guest during the same period but we should not be able to pay the cost of the ¿journey.
