No text description is available for this image![The “ Peace Thank-Offering Fund ” amounted to £74 Is. 6d., and has been deducted from the cost of the air raid precautions taken during the crisis in September. There was still, however, a balance -of £213 5s. 8d., which had to be met from general income. The total expenditure for the year amounted to £10,968 9s. 10d., which is an increase of £471 4s. lid. over 1937. This leaves a deficit on the year’s working of £665 19s. 5d. As against this, legacies have been received amounting to £1,125. There is an urgent need for greatly increased income from ordinary sources to meet the growing expenditure, and the Committee very much regret that .some legacies have again to be appropriated for general purposes. LEGACIES. The following Legacies have been received during the year: — £250 under the Will of the late Mr. E. F. W. Lewis. £10 under the Will of the late Mrs. Annie Roberts. £500 under the Will of the late Mr. James Henry Stephens (per Lloyds Bank Ltd.). £45 under the Will of the late Miss E. M.
