![Melt witli a gentle heat, strain tbe mixture, while hot, through flannel, and stir constantly while it cools. Uses.—Stimulant to ulcers, wounds, blistered surfaces, and to impart consistency to other ointments. UNGUENTUM SABINiE. OINTMENT OP SAVIN. Take of— Savin Tops, bruised 1 ounce. Prepared Lard ...... 2 ounces. ]\Ielt the lard and the wax together on a water-bath, add the savin, and digest for twenty minutes. Then remove the mixture, and express through calico. Uses.—Irritant to blistered surfaces, and for the removal of warts. UNGUENTUM SULPHURIS COMPOSITUM. COMPOUND OINTMENT OP SULPHTJE. Synonym.—Sheep Ointment. Take of— Sublimed Sulphur 1 pound. Common Turpentine 4> ounces. Ointment of Mercury 2 ounces. Linseed Oil 1 pint. Melt the oil and turpentine together over a water-bath ; when the mixture is nearly cold, stir in the sulphur, and afterwards the ointment of mercury, until the whole is thoroughly mixed.
