    neighbourhood early in the month of February, by a child who accidentally received the infection in the IJle of Mann, where it had long and potently obtained. From this fource, and that of the contaminated cloathings of the mother, was a difeafe, not lefs dreadful to parents than deftrudtive to their progeny, very generally communicated. It has been ufually deemed proper in the natural Small- Pox to admit one in fix cafes as certainly mortal: a calcu- lation by no means ftridtly accurate; lince, of the firft thirteen children who took the difeafe, eight only reco- vered, and two of thefe, fuffering a very numerous and confluent eruption, with confiderable difficulty. In near- ly the fame proportion was the general ftate of the former and prefent year’s patients. An Arrangement of the Small-Pox Cafes. i784. Under 2 Years.
