![I am yery fenfible that in advancing this theory I fhall difoblige many of the in¬ habitants of Scarborough, Margate, South¬ ampton, and other places, but in an effay of this kind it is neceffary I fhould be candid. They may perhaps conclude, that for fome interefted motives I write againft falt-water ; I muft therefore de¬ clare that my objedt is truth, not intereft. I muft now conclude this effay with re^ commending fea-water, and more efpeci- ally thofe faline waters impregnated with fulphur, in themoft djftrefting and cruel of all difeafes, the SCROPHULA: or, KING’S EVIL. This difeafe, though it differs from the fcurvy, yet has often been confounded with it, and therefore I ft]all give a fhort hiftory of it, with the lymptoms.
