    [6] feme account of the circumftances' at¬ tending a laceration of the vagina,when, the head being fo low as to be wedged in the pelvis, the child did not efcape into the cavity of the abdomen. On examining the circumftances of fome cafes deferibed as proceeding from rup¬ tures of the uterus, this appears fome- times to have happened without being difeovered. The obfervations annexed, refpecling the circumftances in which lacerations of the vagina differ from ruptures of the uterus ; in the efcape of the child or placenta into the abdomen, and the obftru Elions to delivery ; and the other practical inferences drawn, are fueh as, i hope, will merit the attention of prac¬ titioners.
