The Passions of the Mind was the laft article mentioned as included in the Non-naturals, and on which I (hall be very brief, as it can relate to infants merely in its effedts; of which 1 fhall indance only, in Crying. A variety of conliderations induce me to believe that this expreffion of the paffions in infants, is much more harmlefs in itfelf than is generally imagined, and is often, in fome fefpedt, falutary. The firft cries it makes we know to be fo, and that it recovers from the paroxyfms of fome complaints (as was mentioned in regard to the croup) by an effort of this kind.
