![[Copy Letter.] Dear Sir,— Asliton-under-iLyne, April 12 th, 1920. . Your Annual Report, 1919. Reference yours of the 26th ultimo, I have now the pleasure to inform you that during the year ended December 31st, 1919, residents of Droylsden who received relief from my Board' are classified as follows:— Department. Men. Hospital 11 Iinstitution 13 Outdoor relief 19 Asylums 11 54 Women. 15 .. Children. 5 Total. 31 21 ... 4 ... 38 54 . 55 ... 128 6 ... 0 ... 17 96 64 214 Without the expenditure of eonsidetable time and trouble it is not possible to inform you of the cost of maintenance of the foregoing in tihe Hospital, Institutions, and Asylums, be- cause we should have to ascertain for each individuail the num- ber of days he was maintained, and then reckon at the current flat rate of 21s. for the Hospital, 10s. 6d. for the Institution, and 17s. 6d., 19s. 3d., and 21s. 7d. in the Asylums (changing rates during the year). Moreover, an individual may, and often is, included in figures for the three indoor departments. Excluding administration expeniditure. the actual cost of outdoor relief for the year was £866 5s. 7d., but this in- cludes additional grants for Peace and Christmas Days. Y'ours faithfully.
