    but it must be understood that in early childhood some of these bones consist of parts which are quite distinct ; also that, in the adult, some of the bones which are considered to be distinct are fused together into one mass. The bones of the cranium or brain-case are One occipital. Two parietal. One frontal. Two temporal. One sphenoid. One ethmoid. They are united by means of irregular saw-like edges which firmly lock them together.
