No text description is available for this image![the 26th, the temperature began to rise again, and the vomiting became incessant, and of the coffee-ground type. SaHnes were given freely throughout the illness, and, during the first three days, liquid nourishment was easily taken. Death occurred at 8-45 p.m. on the 26th. .Post-mortem.—The heart and lungs were normal; the liver was yellow in colour and cut firmly ; the size and weight were normal. There was intense congestion of the kidneys and spleen, but the latter was small and weighed under 4 ounces. The walls of the stomach were injected, and almost the whole of the mucous membrane was fhaemorrhagic, while the contents consisted of a tarry fluid, similar to that vomited during life. From the clinical and post-mortem aspects, I must express my opinion that the patient died from yellow fever. For pathological report see Appendix V^, page 196.
