![and true courage, plead the cause and importance of medical gj^mnastics, \yg have succeeded in having our method introduced into many foreign countries and especially German3^ The aston- ishing success of the Zander treatment gradually triumphs over the prejudice which generally op])oses the introduction of the unknown. And so we have every reason to state with sa- tisfaction that the Zander method of gymnastics gains ground day by day. Yet we are still distant from the object we have in view, — that bathing-places, as well as important cities, larger provincial towns and all Trades-Associations,' may found Zan- der gymnastic Institutes, with a well calculated attention to their own economical interest, and consequently to their own advantage as well as to the welfare of the sick and suffering No prophet's eyes are needed to behold now in spirit the time when the Medical Faculties of foreign countries will so highly appreciate the Zander method that it will be classed amongst other medical studies. In fact the Swedish medical gymnastics or kiuesipatby, as they are also named, have a great future and a safe guarantee for rational treatment o\i]y in the hands of medical men. The Zander gymnastic method is a popularisation of science; for, owing to the low price, it is accessible to all; rich and poor, high and low can profit in equal degree from its beue- ticial power. This vSwedish invention may be considered as a universal good, not only by the simplicity of its means, but also by its efficiency; and whoever examines it mthont prejudice, will certainly enlist under its flag and work vigorously for its future. It remains to give my warmest thanks to Dr. G. Zander and to Mr. E. GoEANSSON C. E. for their obliging kindness in placing material and drawings at my disposal. Stockholm, November 1893. A.
