![Committees The Committees responsible for health matters in Bexhill are, with their duties: 1. Health Committee (a) Public Health and sanitation. (b) Slaughterhouses, dairies. Shops Acts and factories and work- shops. (c) Moveable dwellings. (d) Mortuary. ^ (e) Breaches of Byelaws or Statutes as to matters dealt with by them. (f) The service of Notices (other than Preliminary Notices), and, if necessary, the institution of legal proceedings. (g) Reconstruction of drains. (h) Pollution of streams and watercourses. (i) To exercise and carry out the powers and duties of the Council in all matters of urgency relating to the suppression of nusiances and the preservation of public health. (j) Sewerage and drainage. (k) The collection and disposal of house and trade refuse. 2. Estates and Parks Committees (a) The care, control and management of the swimming bath. (b) The care, control and management of cemeteries. 3. Water Committee (a) The supply of water and management and control of the water undertaking of the Council. In the near future the new Clean Food Regulations will become operative with the emphasis on scrupulous cleanliness, both personal and environmental as far as cafes, kitchens and restaurants and their staffs are concerned. 1'lie public can here, also, play an important part in assisting the Public Health Inspectors, who advise and assist caterers to com})ly with the Regulations which put the “ accent ” on cleanliness at all stages of food ])re])aration and serving as well as the part played by tem|)eratures in the growth of food poisoning germs.
