Mazocco, 1509 This edition of a celebrated Romance of Chivalry, which appeared before the Orlando Furioso, is quite as rare as the first edition of the celebrated poem of Ariosto. Two copies only of it were known to Melzi. The real name of the author was Francesco Bello. (See Apostolo Zeno in his notes to Fontanini.) Vinegia, per Bartholomeo ditto Imperador, 1549 Two copies only of this edition were known to Melzi. Cryetir Carpons (Gio: Nicola) R sbandita sopra la Potenza d’ Amore Svo. Todi, Anibale Alvigi, 1627 In this scarce and curious Poem the letter R is entirely omitted, no word being used in which it occurs. Cirmmnt Episcort (Beati) Speculum Sapientie alias Quadripartitus Apologeticus vocatus FIRST EDITION, RARE 4to. Sine ulla nota M. Adry (whose very learned dissertation on these Fables and their author may be seen in Tome H, 1806, of Magazin Encyclopédique) considered this edition as the first, and perhaps justly as it has every appearance of having been printed in Germany about 1470. Dr. Dibdin (see his auto- graph note on fly-leaf of this copy) attributes it to the Press of Schceffer. Its rarity is so great that B. Corderius who, from a manuscript, printed an edition at Vienna in 1630, was totally ignorant of any former impression, and inserted on his title-page ‘‘ APOLOGI MORALES nunc primum edit.” Crrotixt (Alessandro) La Tipocosmia SCARCE Svo. Venetia, V. Valgrist, 1561 THUANUS’S COPY, and apretty specimen of his vellum binding, gilt edges. On the back is his monogram, and on the sides the wreathed arms, with “ Jac. Avuaust. THUANUS ” on a scroll. Craramonrit (Scipionis) Opuscula varia Mathematica Ato. Bononie, 1653 Italian binding of the XVIIth century. Beautiful copy in old vellum, gilt edges, the sides covered with elaborate gold tooling. The work is very scarce. Crauptant (C.) Opera (ex recensione Barnabe Celsan1) FIRST EDITION, fine large copy, red morocco, gilt edges ' | folio. Vincentie, Jacobus Dusensis, 1482 “Count Revickzky,” says Dr. Dibdin (Introd. to the Classics, vol.
