Description
These Indian women are carrying water pots on their heads. They make water collection a social event. The majority of the water collected is used for washing; the remainder is used for cooking and drinking. Families sometimes discriminate between sources; they travel further if necessary to collect cleaner water for drinking, while using closer sources for washing.
