Add gradually 10 parts of sulphuric acid to 30 parts of rectified spirit, both by weight, and when cold ^ part of red poppy petals; digest for 4 days and filter. AciDTJM Sttlphtdeicum (Hxdeosulphuricum) Aqua SOLTTTUM. Cold water fully saturated with sulphuretted hydrogen gas, produced from sulphide of iron and diluted sulphuric acid. Putsidphuric acid f 5iv, and wood charcoal, in small pieces, ^j, into a glass tlask; heat, and pass the evolved gas tln-ough a small wash bottle containing gij of water, to the bottom of a second bottle containing distilled water gxx, which must be kept cold. Continue the distillation until the bubbles of gas in the wash bottle appear to be equalled by those passing through the fluid in the larger bottle.
