![AMJioNiiE HTDEOSULPnuEETUM. E. Pass sulpluu'etted hydrogen gas (from ^Iss of sulpliuret of iron, f l-vv of water, and fgiss of oil of vitriol, ^Dassing tlie gas first through a little water) into f giv of solution of ammonia, till the liquid ceases to give a precipitate when added to a saturated solution of sulphate of magnesia. It should be kept in a greeu-glass bottle with an accurately ground stopper. Sp. gr. -999. Poisonous. Dose, 4 to 8 drops in water, in diabetes. Ajimonus Liquoe. See Liquor Ammonia?. A]1IM0NIJ2 NiTEAS. B. Saturate diluted nitric acid with solu- tion of ammonia or carbonate ammonia ; evaporate until crystals are formed, and keep these fused at a temperature not exceeding 320^ F., until the vapour of water is no longer emitted. Dose, gr. x to xxx, refrigerant and diuretic. AMMONiiE OxALAS. E. Dissolve gviij of carbonate of am- monia in Oiv of water; add gradually giv of oxalic acid, concentrate by boiling, and set aside to crystallize. Ammonia Phosphas. B. To dilute phosphoric acid Oj add strong solution of ammonia until the solution is slightly alkaline. Evaporate liquid, adding more am- monia from time to time to keep it in slight excess. When, on cooling crystals are formed, dry them quickly on filter- ing paper placed on a porous tile, and preserve in a stoppered bottle. -Ammonia Pe/EPAEATa. Ammonia? Carbouas. AMMONiiE Sesquicaebonas. Scc Ammonia? Carbouas. ■ Ammoni/t; Succinas Impurus. P. Spirit of hartshorn neutralized with succinic acid (salt of amber), and filtered. Dose, a few drops as an antispasmodic. Ammoni.t: Sulphas. Saturate diluted sulphuric acid with carbonate of ammonia, and evaporate the solution, that crystals may form as it cools. Dose, gr. xv to xxx. Diureltc and stimulant. Ammoni.;e Taeteas. See Liquor Ammonia? Tartratis. Ammonia Taetarizata. Saturate a solution of tartaric acid with one of carbonate of ammonia in slight excess. Evaporate to dryness, with a very gentle heat.
