One grain of Perchloride of Mercurj' is contained in f gij (or 875 grains) of the Solution {Liquor Hydrargyri per- chloridi, B.), nnd in 1000 grains of that of P. It is probable that the whole of the active principles of the Opium are not taken up either in the Tincture, Wine, orVinegar of Opium; and that, consequently, the above quantities do not ex- actly represent one grain of Crude Opium.
