![pharmaceutical operations. B. In the steam-bath the vapour of water is applied at a temperature above 212° F., but not exceeding 230 F. Balneum Aeen.?:, or sand-bath, denotes the heating of a vessel through the medium of sand. Balneum Metallicum, as a pharmaceutical agent, is made by melting together 8 parts of tin, 4 of lead, and 3 of bismuth.
