PHARMACY AND POISONS ACT, 1933. This Act contains numerous provisions with regard to the sale of poisons, membership of the Pharmaceutical Society and the conditions to be fulfilled by pharmacists in order to become authorised sellers of poisons. Poisons are to be divided into two groups according to recommendations by an Advisory Committee to be set up by the Home Office. Those in the first group will only be sold by registered pharmacists while those in the second group may be sold by registered pharmacists and certain other persons registered by the local authority (in London, the Borough Council). The inspection of the premises of registered pharmacists will be in the hands of the Pharmaceutical Society, but the inspection of the premises of the other persons will be the responsibility of the local authority. The Medical Officer of Health and the Sanitary Inspectors from time to time in the employ of the Council have been appointed as officers to execute the Act. So far, the lists of poisons and regulations for procedure under the Act have not been issued by the Home Office.](https://iiif.wellcomecollection.org/image/b18236650_0112.jp2/full/800%2C/0/default.jpg)
